Dear Mark, I agree, the way forward is to involve investors if a real difference is going to be made. Oxigen work with foresters in Costa Rica to supply Teak Trees to investors for long term re-forestation. Grown using organic methods, this investment is a method of bringing money and reforestation together. It's a win-win situation for everyone - we've had keen interest from many UKSif and International Sif managers and IFAs interested in a real alternative for Socially Responsible Investment.

I think the way forward is with companies like Oxigen. Everybody talks about solutions to these issues as Oxigen are demonstrating the real solution is to find ways for investors to get ethical returns from these projects so that they can can help whilst making a little money, always the best incentive!
