Why Sri Lanka?

It's the perfect location...

Nature has bestowed upon Sri Lanka some of the most favourable climatic and environmental conditions, making it ideal for growing agarwood and teak.
The climate can be described as tropical, and quite hot. Its position between 5 and 10 degrees north latitude means the country has a warm climate, moderated by ocean winds and considerable moisture. These climatic conditions make Sri Lanka the perfect location for the growing of high quality forestry products.
Formerly known as Ceylon, it is one of the oldest colonial countries in South East Asia and operates a largely British style legal system. The country is one of the region's fastest growing economies, with a rapidly expanding stock exchange. The commercial capital, Colombo, plays host to many of the world's leading financial institutions.
Sri Lanka is also home to some of the foremost forestry experts, with various universities specialising in forestry management. The government is welcoming and encouraging towards eco-based foreign investment, such as Oxigen's plantations in Puttalam.
